These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of My Congolese. By creating an account, signing in, posting content, joining groups, sending messages, or otherwise using the service, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use My Congolese.

About My Congolese

My Congolese is a social networking platform for Congolese people and the Congolese diaspora. The service may include profiles, feeds, posts, comments, reactions, friendships, groups, private group spaces, direct messages, notifications, events, reels, and uploaded media.

Eligibility

  • You must be at least 13 years old to use My Congolese.
  • You must provide accurate account information and keep it updated.
  • You are responsible for your account activity and for keeping your password and sign-in methods secure.
  • You may not use My Congolese if we previously suspended or removed your account for violating these Terms, unless we give you permission to return.

Community Standards

My Congolese is built for community, culture, conversation, and connection. You are responsible for what you post, upload, send, or otherwise make available through the service.

  • Do not harass, threaten, bully, exploit, or abuse others.
  • Do not post hate speech, targeted attacks, or content that promotes violence against people or groups.
  • Do not post illegal content, sexually exploitative content, or content that violates another person's privacy.
  • Do not impersonate others, misrepresent yourself, or create accounts to evade moderation.
  • Do not spam, scrape, overload, reverse engineer, or interfere with the platform.
  • Do not upload malware, harmful code, or content designed to compromise the service or other users.
  • Do not post content that infringes intellectual property rights, including copyrights, trademarks, or publicity rights.

Your Content

You keep ownership of content you create and upload to My Congolese. You are responsible for making sure you have the rights needed to post that content.

By posting, uploading, or sending content through My Congolese, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, display, transmit, adapt for formatting, and distribute that content as needed to operate, protect, and improve the service.

This license depends on the visibility of your content. Public content may be shown publicly. Private group content and direct messages are handled according to the access controls for those features, but other users with access may still copy or share what they can see.

Groups, Events, Messages, And Reels

  • Group admins are responsible for managing their groups, including membership decisions, group settings, and moderation inside their group.
  • Private groups are intended for members only, but private group content should not be treated as guaranteed confidential.
  • Direct messages are intended for conversation participants, but participants may copy, screenshot, or share messages outside the service.
  • Events may be public or group-linked depending on how they are created and where they are posted.
  • Reels are public short-form videos unless the product later provides a different visibility setting.

Moderation And Enforcement

We may remove content, limit distribution, restrict features, suspend accounts, terminate accounts, or take other action if we believe these Terms are violated, if content creates risk for users or the service, or if action is needed to comply with law.

We may also preserve, review, or disclose information when needed to investigate abuse, protect the platform, enforce these Terms, or respond to lawful requests.
